This Article continues the Thread from SpeedX Delivery Excuses #5
April 7 2017 – After 6 weeks of silence, another update. In fairness the SpeedX Support Forum had by now opened up and a lot of the information was posted there.
“It’s been a good while since our last Kickstarter update. We had some obstacles, but we also make good delivery progress.
Europe shipping got started much behind the U.S. and RoW shipping, but it seems Europe shipping has the best progress. Let’s see the details as below.
US Shipping
The 4th U.S. batch already landed in LA port on March 28th. FedEx is distributing them now, and according to the delivery posts in our Facebook community, a lot of U.S. backers already received the bikes in 4th batch.
We expected to ship all Kickstarter U.S. orders in the 4th batch. However, we still have 36 orders left. They will be shipped out in the 5th batch on April 20th.
EU Shipping – Only 3 left now
Since end of Feb, we’ve shipped out 78 more bikes to EU, including 60 Leopard, and 18 Leopard Pro (some of them are newly confirmed orders). You could see the delivery posts in our Facebook community quite often.
We have 3 orders left for Europe now. They’re shipped from our Taiwan factory, and the factory can’t mobilise a team for only 3 bikes, so they will be shipped together with EU Indiegogo orders, and we expect to ship them all out by end of April.
RoW Shipping
As some of you already know from our Facebook community, we had an unexpected MSDS inspection, which caused a one-month delay for RoW. On April 5th, we finally received the Di2 MSDS from Shimano!
We don’t stop during the Di2 MSDS delay, as we already pack them and get them ready to ship. We have 24 left for RoW shipping, and we expect to ship them all out in less than 10 work days.
April 19 2017 – Coming to the end of deliveries, and the Updates posted on the Kickstarter Campaign pages, were getting very scarce.
It’s time for another update. Recently we have made a good delivery progress and we have some good news for you. Below is our latest shipping status.
US Shipping
Now our 5th batch is being prepared. For KS, there are 30 orders left now. In this batch, we plan to ship all left orders (both KS and IGG) together. Therefore, the previous schedule will get a little behind and will be put off to the end of April.
EU Shipping – All done!
All EU orders have been shipped out! We know the whole process didn’t go well before because EU shipping started the latest. Now we hope all EU backers could enjoy their rides with SpeedX.
ROW Shipping
After solving the MSDS inspection problem, the shipping is back to normal schedule. Till now only 8 orders are left and they will be shipped out soon.
Feedback
As usual, we would like to share some feedbacks with you. For those who don’t receive the bike yet, please hang on there and it will be totally worth the wait!
Customer Support
As last update, now our support team has joined SpeedX Riders on Facebook. For any problems, you can use this hashtag #speedxsupport to gain their attention.
And don’t forget, you can always reach us at support@speedx.com and we are more than glad to provide any help you need.
May 8 2017 – The very last update –
We have 7 bikes left to be shipped out. Let’s see the latest shipping status.
U.S. Shipping
- The 5th U.S. batch already moved out at the end of April, and hopefully they could be delivered by end of May. We have 68 bikes in this batch, including 27 KS orders, 37 IGG orders, and 4 website orders.
- We have 3 orders left, and they will be shipped by mid of May. We will offer free air shipping. We really wish we could ship them in the 5th batch, however we don’t have the stock before we load the 5th batch into the container.
EU Shipping – All done!
RoW Shipping
We shipped out 4 bikes since last update, and we have 4 bikes left. We expect to ship them all out by end of next week.
Customer Support
We have SpeedX Forum now, and we expect it could help with our customer support.
Since the 1st delivery, we’ve seen many customer support posts in our Facebook Group, but it’s not easy to track them, which leaves a low efficiency to solve problems.
So hope you could post in the SpeedX Forum when you have any customer support issues instead of Facebook group, and we have customer support sub-forums there.
We give the highest response priority to threads in the customer support sub-forums of SpeedX Forum.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach SpeedX Support via support@speedx.com or post in SpeedX forum.
====================================================================
Altogether, it took SpeedX 14 months to manufacture, and ship the bikes to the 1,800 backers of the Leopard / Leopard Pro product launch.
To say it was a shambles was an understatement. The SpeedX Management had no idea how to cope with the complexities of what they were trying to do.
They were running around like the proverbial, “Headless Chickens”. And one of the big communication problems was, that they did not want to talk with their backers.
Every suggestion from the backers was dismissed. It wasn’t a very comfortable time for anyone.
It really was the ‘beginning of the end’. SpeedX limped on for another few months, but with the problems they were facing with the launch of the Unicorn, and the farce that was Bluegogo, their time was very limited,
The product was good – it was the implementation that was so badly flawed.
